Costa Blanca "White Coast", Province of Alicante

The Costa Blanca has become one of the favorite holiday destinations in Spain. The province of Alicante offers sandy beaches, exotic dunes, the hills of the interior and excellent golf courses to its visitors. And its exceptional weather, nearly 365 sunny days a year and the annual average temperature is 18°! All this makes the province one of the most ideal places to spend your holidays or even to live all year round!
The Province of Alicante is one of the biggest autonomous areas of Valencia. Its neighbours are the region of Murcia in the South, Albacete in the West and Valencia in the North. The name Costa Blanca comes from its white beaches, from its white almond flowers in spring time and from its snow-white salt mountains. Waterfalls of Fuentes de Algar are also located near Alicante.

The capital of the province of Alicante is the city of Alicante, which is the most important city of the autonomous area after the City of Valencia. The population of the city was 322 673 in 2007.
